What is a DVD Slideshow?
A Vintage Focus DVD Slideshow is a large collection of still photos (800-1200)
of a motorcycle event or motorcycles that have been made into a DVD movie.
At present I am using software called "Memories On TV". I highly recommend this
software
as an easy to use DVD creation tool. In our DVDs we use transition effects
between photos and add background music among other things to make the DVDs
more interesting to watch. If you can watch DVD movies whether on your TV or
computer you can also watch a Vintage Focus slideshow. It will load
automatically like a movie and there is a simple menu to select options. There
are 2 different DVD formats used in the world. In the USA and Canada and some
of the rest of the world the standard is NTSC. In Europe and much of the
rest of the world the standard is PAL. Perhaps some of the newer DVD players
and computer software can play either. Vintage Focus can supply either one. If
you order a DVD and do not specifiy I will supply the one listed as standard
for the country I am shipping to.
Is there a program (software) on the DVD?
Strictly speaking there is no software on the DVD. It has a menu just like
a DVD movie but no software that can be run on a computer. There are also no
individual jpeg photos. The photos have been transformed into a movie.
On what type of device can I view the DVD Slideshow?
If you have DVD player and a TV you can view it on your TV. If your computer
can read DVDs and you have software to watch a movie on your computer you can
view the DVD on your computer.
How do I begin viewing a DVD Slideshow?
You load the DVD in your DVD player or computer DVD reader just like you would
do a movie. It will load automatically and you will see background photo
and 2 smaller thumbnails of your 2 options. The first option will give a little
detail about the DVD and Vintage Focus in text slides. The second option will
begin the main slideshow. Choose them just like you would with a movie. The
main slide show should continuously loop once you start it.
How do I know what I am seeing?
The slideshow is pretty much arranged in the order the photos were taken.
Sometimes there will be a text slide to explain a little about what is
going on. Often there will be a 16 photo detail of a motorcycle. You can
usually see the markings well enough to identify it.
How do I do a search?
You can use the fast forward and fast rewind buttons to move quickly around.
There are no search options.
How to I print a photograph?
If you view the DVD on a TV you have no printing options. If you view the DVD
on a computer you may be able to print depending on the software you have. The
quality of the DVD display is poor compared to the jpeg photos used to create
DVD. If you are interested in printing the photos you will should buy the CD
that has the photos you are interested in or contact me directly about a
specific photo you want. On the CD the photos are high quality jpeg and will
make nice prints.
What can I do with the DVD?
Our DVDs, CDs, and photos are copyrighted by Vintage Focus. Basically
we consider them journalistic/artistic works. But this does not restrict
personal use. We also like to encourage club and event uses which promote
motorcycle culture and knowldege. See the About Vintage focus section
for more details and just ask if you have a special need to use them.
