As part of the Daytona Bike Week celebration many motorcycle makers and other vendors set up large displays in the grounds in front of the Daytona International Speedway. The new models are on display and test rides can be taken. We visited on a wet Sunday morning of March 2, 2003. It was not actively raining while we were there but it rained off and on during the day. The was the begining of the week and so things were in the process of being set up and not many people were around. It was easy to park and there was no charge to park or walk around.
On Monday morning, March 3, we paid a visit to the Daytona International Speedway infield swap meet. Rain was only threatening when we first got there but by 1pm it was raining hard enough to get quite wet. It was expensive to attend since you had to pay to get into the infield. You go through the tunnel under the track walls. Once inside though parking was free and you get to attend a swap meet and watch vintage races both. The rain eventually took some of the fun out although the air temperature was quite comfortable. We got a lot of good pictures. Especially of the nice bikes that were ridden in to the infield as even the wet weather did not keep riders away. Vintage motorycle enthusists are a dedicated bunch thank goodness.
