I visited many motorcycle events during 2006 and took around 30,000 digital photographs. I have gone through them all picking out all photos of old Harley Davidson motorcycles. This was about 1900 photographs. Some events such as the AMCA meets in Eustis FL and Oley PA had lots of antique and vintage Harleys to photograph but I came across at least a few old Harleys at many other meets. I created a CD with all photos as 1280x960 jpeg files. I also created a DVD slideshow movie but had to reduce the number of photos to 1400 so they would all fit on the DVD. The DVD has background music and transitions between slides.

An "Old Harley" roughly means before 1975 although there are a few exceptions. For many bikes I did a full 16 photo set that gives a good view of almost every part of the bike. For other bikes there are just a few views and some are just a single photo of a bike and rider going by. If the bike was in a show and had a tag I usually take a close up of the tag so it can be easily identified. On the CD I also included all the Italian Harleys I came across but on the DVD I eliminated most of them plus some views on the other bikes to get the total photos down to 1400.

On both the CD and DVD the photos are arranged chronologically as they were taken and grouped by the event they were taken in. Each event has a small description and 3 typical photos of what the event was like followed by the Harley photos taken at the event.

The CD is like a big folder of files. You put the CD in your computer and look at the CD and click the first photo to view it and then your software should allow you to move forward and back and display it as a slide show. You will be able to see lots of detail and do close ups. If you want to check details for restorations you would want the CD.

The DVD has the photos presented as a slideshow movie with background music and transition effects between the photos. If you want to just set back and enjoy 90 minutes of old Harleys in all kinds of settings then you want the DVD. Having both would work well too as they are organized the same so it is not hard to go back and forth between them although the CD has 500 more photos (including the Italian Harleys) that the DVD.
