Motorcyclist in the New England area are a hardy bunch of riders and they need to be. Who else would think of having a major motorcycle gathering in the almost certain painfully cold or wet weather of October. Leave it to those macho Yankee Beemers to start a tradition although the Museum itself now runs the event. I do know that the English like to suffer on their bikes and I have seen photographs of German meets in the snow so I guess it is not totally crazy. But chances are about 9 in 10 for cold or rain. I am not complaining though as it is one my favorite motorcycle gathering because of its audacity and the caliber of rider and bikes that show up. It is a riders meet with a very large portion of the visitors arriving on motorcycles.

This was the 11th year the European Motorcycle Day at the Larz Anderson Museum of Transportation in Brookline (Boston area) MA. The event was on a Sunday from 9-4. General admission was $5 adults and $3 students and seniors. It cost $10 to enter a bike for judging. Vendor fee was $50. Cycles can easily park within the museum grounds. Cars can find free parking on the streets with a little effort.

We arrived around 9am Sunday morning after only getting a little lost. The weather was perfect for once and there was a good turn out and lots of great bikes to see. We stayed until the end and got lots of good photos.
