Laconia NH has long been associated with motorcycle racing from the original nearby Belknap track to the nearby New Hampshire International Speedway in Loudon NH. Up until 2003 there were vintage races around the time of the Laconia Bike Week at the Gunstock Ski Area in Gilford NH (See our CD 03_09). But starting in 2004 the USCRA started doing an exhibition race right in downtown Laconia. So on Sunday June 11th 2006 the USCRA held the 3rd annual vintage races right through the specially laid out downtown streets. The race teams set up around the railroad station and in addition to race bikes there were lots of vintage street bikes to enjoy.

I rode over to Laconia on my BMW K75 arriving around 8 in the morning. Many racers had already set up and others were doing so. The races started around noon and I had to head home around 2pm before they were all done but I still was able to photograph a lot of race bikes parked and in action.
