The Marcus Dairy Bar in Danbury CT has been a popular motorcycle gathering place since 1947. When in the area riders often stop by all during the riding season especially on Sunday. Once a year there is a Super Sunday when vast numbers of riders come by. In fact so many now come that instead of meeting at the Marcus Dairy Bar they meet at the Western Connecticut State University campus where there is ample room. This is a pretty campus and it does not cost anything to ride in and park. For those wanting to join the organized activities for $12 you will have access to an outside vendor area and a huge indoor arena.

On Sunday July 10th on a near perfect summer day I rode down from Cornish NH on my R60 with a friend from Brattleboro VT who rode his 1951 Moto Guzzi Falcone 500 single. We saw very few vintage bikes at this event but there sure were lots of beautiful motorcycles. We arrived around 11am and stayed until around 2pm. We had such a good time looking at all the parked cycles that we did not bother going into the organized activities. I am sure they were very interesting too but you need to have a whole day to take everything in. After we left we swung by the real Marcus Dairy Bar and got a bite to eat. There were very few bikes there which I am sure is unusual during all the rest of the summer.
