The Vintage Road Racing Association (VRRA) preserves vintage and classic motorcycle racing in Canada. They have been doing this since 1980. The premier classic/vintage roadracing event in Canada is the VRRA's three day Motorcycle Festival held annually at Mosport International Raceway on the third weekend in August. In 2008 this was August 15th to 17th. The Mosport Raceway is located in Bowmanville Ontario and ranks among the best road race tracks in North America. Many US vintage racers from USCRA, WERA, and AHRMA also partipate in this race. More information about VRRA can be found at www.vrra.ca/vrra.htm.

The Mosport track is located several miles outside of town with lots of space for racers and vistors. There are restrooms and a food stand for basic needs. Both RV and tent camping were very popular. Besides almost contious racing events to watch there was a Concours d' Elegance bike judging that had a nice variety of vintage bikes.

The ride from Cornish NH to Bowmanville Ontario was around 500 miles. I left at 6am Friday morning (15th Aug) on the 1988 Moto Guzzi Mille GT and went by way of the Adirondack Park in NY. I hit several bands of rain but the temperature was pleasant and I arrived 7pm Friday evening. Saturday was a very busy day of photgraphing. I headed for home around 6pm Saturday evening stopping at a motel along the way. Back in Cornish at 2pm on Sunday covering a little over 1000 miles round trip. I was able to take 3150 photographs. There is a good mixture of vintage race bikes and vintage street bikes. For many of the motorcycles I was able to do a full 16 view set. A CD of all photos in 1280x960 jpg format is available for $10 including shipping to anywhere in the world (CD 08_10).
