The Spanish Motorcycle Owners Group (SMOG) is a very active group of vintage riders. Their primary focus are old Bultacos and Montessas and Ossas but there are several active makers of Spanish trail bikes such as Gas Gas which get attention too. They have a very good bimonthly publication which comes with their $22 membership fee. Their address is PO Box 297 Cropseyville, New York 12052. Not all Spanish bikes are for trails either. They have first rate street machines too.

I see the SMOG booth set up at many events I attend but this time I went to one of their annual events. The East Trail Ride is a 10 mile woods ride in the woods of Ravena NY. Finding the event site was no easy task for those who have never been there before. By following signs I eventually arrived at a back field where everyone was gathered. After the ride there was a cookout. The weather was nice and there was a good group of bikes to check out.
