Vintage BMW motorcycles are the elegant side of motorcycling. The highest level of craftmanship in a reliable motorcycle to get you from here to there. That German obssession with detail expressed in a motorbike. They didn't have to be slow pokes either and that low center of gravity of the shaft drive opposed twin helps in the curves. On May 30 to Jun 1 2003 you could see the oldest to the newest of these bikes and their owners in the beautiful surroundings of the Wadleigh Falls Campground in Lee NH. We arrived Saturday morning and set up our vendor stand for the first time to test our equipment and take photos. The weather was nice in a hazy sun although the forcast had not been good which I am sure kept some away. For these once a year events you just have to ignore the weatherman.

This was the 28th Annual Mayday Madness campout and swap meet. This year it was held at the Wadleigh Falls Campground group camping area. The organizers are the Vintage BMW Motorcycle Owners,Ltd. There are showers, a pool, a small store and rec hall at the campground. The were parts swap, awards, and door prizes. Camping is $10 per person per night. Day visiting is $5.
